About

WBF jeadsjpt .photoSee me, C, Go everywhere!

Initially motivated to blog for family and friends while playing volleyball overseas, as multiple emails became tiresome.  Using my writing and photography to share my  perspective of the world as a professional volleyball player abroad. Writing has enabled me to connect with fellow athletes, travelers, and writers worldwide.

Rote Raben v Offenburg-1I was inspired to write more seriously after having the opportunity to publish a weekly column while playing professionally in Osijek, Croatia.

Since then I have found inspiration everywhere with my observations whether as an athlete and outsider in new cultural environments forging my own path, or as a local exploring my backyard.

Go confidently in the direction of your dreams, live the life you have imagined.  – Henry David Thoreau

Caral-245My lust for travel and adventure started with one summer in Alaska. Then an art course which led to my European backpacking adventure, followed by college in Tennessee on a volleyball scholarship, and volleyball has since been the key to opening doors for the rest of my journeys. I am a wanderer, never lost,  just living in motion.  I lived abroad for six years throughout Europe playing professionally and traveled to 20+ countries with no end in sight.

All that is gold does not glitter, Not all who wander are lost.

– J.R.R. Tolkien

The irony of this blog for me is that growing up I ALWAYS saw writing as a chore, the last thing I wanted to do. I waited as long as possible to complete writing assignments, now it is something I look forward to!

I hope you do to.
